Psycho, week of 3-23 (fail)

I'll very likely be late to any raids this week, as work won't get out until 5:00 to 6:00 ST, and about an hour+ commute home, cry, but I'll be on as soon as I can.

It looks like this will be extending into next week as well. Bad for raiding (and my leisure time), but I needs the $$.

The corporate mofo's felt it was prudent to literally fill the server with this shit called "email", and micro$oft exchange for some reason cannot function with a completely full hard disk, and one database got corrupted.

No problem right? Restore from the previous night's backup. Except for when the backup software arbitrarily chooses to restore all databases instead of the single one that was selected, corrupting them. To top that off, further attempts to read the backup data from tape have all failed.

A lot of fuckers apparently "need" their previous email for some stupid reason, so we've been working pretty late (7-8 server) to manually extract copies of each individual user's email box, one folder at a time, because the recovery software that costs $2500 apparently doesn't have the option to do the whole thing automatically. And only a few hundred users. Some fools actually have 20+ GB of fucking email, and some never even cleaned out their deleted items folder for years.

So I'm going to have to change the "late to raids" to "probably won't make it", and it's spilling into next week.

On the bright side, this will give me a rather large buffer to work with until the next contract job comes by, and I can get back to my regular slacker schedule.

Well that sucks ass and is great at the same time. Maybe this company is in need of some bail out cash, and those big wigs need their shit back up so they can get the emails reguarding their bonuses. Ass clowns.
