About Trial Members Empty About Trial Members

Due to some misconceptions about rank and priority, we felt it was necessary to go slightly more in depth as to what a Trial Member is and how they fit into the greater scheme of things.

A Trial Member is a new recruit coming into the guild who is trying out for a position we need in the Core group. (Incoming casual's will, 90% of the time, be ranked immediately as casual in comparison.) Trial status is affected purely by how comfortable we (the guild) are with the person, and the person with us. So there is no set limit to this timeframe.

What does this mean in terms of filling the roster for Core raid nights? Well, a Trial is going to have preference over Casuals for the sole reason of trying out for Core. We need to evaluate performance and also personality. And when it comes to a Trial Member maybe taking someone's Core spot for the night, we leave that to the discretion of the officers. It's imperative we make sure our raiding roster is cohesive and cooperative.

How about the loot situation? Since a Trial Member is there to try out, we don't think it necessary to give them loot preference quite yet. If they become a part of the team, there will be plenty of loot to go around. So the preference is Core > Casual > Trial. We'll never DE something that could go to a Trial Member. The Loot Council information will also reflect this.

All in all, the Trial Member is there to impress us, and for us to impress them. They deserve their chance to become a part of the Blackened team.
